What is on my wishlist to buy this summer is entirely different than what I was looking to buy last summer.
I’m now looking for comfy, easy-breezy clothes, sporty sandals, and even a funny bag to carry tons of doggie treats when walking our puppy James.
I have noticed a personal shift in my clothing preferences. I value WAY more comfort, and I can thank that for the time I spent baking banana bread while working from home, wearing pajamas, and also to all the super-chic brands that had launched elevated loungewear and fashionable technical apparel.
*this is a recent spring outfit I put together to meet new friends, here in Austin.
The first brand I want to talk about is Outdoor Voices and the famous Exercise Dress.
It is the perfect yet simple summer dress you may wear all season.
It is soft, stretchy, comfortable, easy to throw on, and ready to have a good time drinking mimosas at the lake.
This dress is fully lined with a built-in bra and shorts with pockets (take my money, now!)
The idea is brilliant, and the ironic part is this type of dress was already created a long time ago and used for playing tennis or golf. The brand took advantage of the leisurewear momentum and now is taking all the credit (and earnings for their excellent timing)
They recently released a new version with some adjustments they made after reviewing their client’s feedback.
Changes: Adjustable straps, built-in shorts liner with two pockets, Leg grippers, and they removed the center seam from the bodysuit liner.
The second item on my wish list is "The ReNew Sport Sandals" from Everlane. Let’s be honest, pretty much everything that Everlane launch is on my wishlist.
These sandals are again effortless and comfortable, and I love the juxtaposition of a soft floral summer dress styled with these black quite chunky sandals.
They are made from recycled materials, and Everlane decided in 2018 to removed virgin plastic from their entire supply chain.
I love the idea of buying a classic quality staple that is environmentally conscious.
The third item is "The Woven Cross-body Bag" from (guess? Yes, Everlane)
My favorite variation is the one called Breen with brown and black details. I think it will add a little more character to a sporty look.
The fourth item is "The Square-neck One-piece Swimsuit," from Everlane. (I told you that I wanted to get everything they release)
They come in different colors, including a lovely floral print with navy and white tones. The one on my wish list is the black version because, in the past, I get quickly bored with swimsuit prints, and this time I'm looking for something timeless.
The Square-Neck One-Piece features a modern square neckline, minimal topstitching, a built-in shelf bra, removable pads, and wide straps for an easy fit. Plus, it’s made of fully lined Italian fabric with technical quick-drying and fade-resistant properties.
Last but not least are the Beale sunglasses from Warby Parker. They come in three different colors, but my favorite is jet black.
If you are not familiar with the brand, Warby Parker offers designer eyewear at an affordable price. They partner with non-profits to ensure that a pair is distributed to someone in need for every pair of glasses sold.
